AMX 30 Bi-tubes

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a French AMX-30 DCA SPAAG (Self-propelled Anti Aircraft Gun) designed in the late 60, a similar solution as the AMX 13 DCA 30 (See Heller – 192 – AMX 13 Bi-tubes) but using an AMX 30 tank chassis, which allowed more munition to be carry on and better stability for the systems. Despite of this the French army did not put this variant into service, but Saudi Arabia ordered 53 units in the 70s.

Kit reuses chassis, hull and running gear from  Heller – 79899 – AMX 30/105 kit with new parts for the AA turret.

This kit was released in 1979, the AMX 30 Parts were tooled in 1976, they both are original Heller kits. While AMX 30 kit has been released several times, the AMX-30 DCA SPAAG has not been re-issued never and is a rare to find kit.
