Soviet (9P117M1) Launcher with R17 Rocket of 9K72 Missile Complex “Elbrus”
(Scud B)

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet R-17 Elbrus tactical ballistic missile, known by its NATO reporting name SS-1C Scud-B. Introduced in service in mid 60s has been operated by over 30 different countries (many ex-Soviet republics) and manufactured under license in different countries till 1988, remaining in service in several countries.

In 1997 a wheeled launcher was introduced, using as base the MAZ-543 heavy truck, designated 9K72 Elbrus launcher (9P117).

Scud-B was nuclear capable, with a range up to 300Km.

Kit consists of over 120 parts and includes rubber tires.

Hobby Boss not usually offers too many options for markings, but this time decal sheet includes 4 different markings, one Czech, one Afghanistan Army marking (2005) and two Iraqi markings, one dated for the Iran-Iraq war, 1980-1988 and one for the Gulf War dated 1991.
