Description:

The Ford V3000S, a 3-ton German military truck produced during World War II. Although Ford is an American company, its German subsidiary, Ford-Werke GmbH, based in Cologne, continued operations under German control during the war and manufactured vehicles for the Wehrmacht.

The V3000 was a reliable and sturdy medium-duty truck designed primarily for logistics and troop transport. It was powered by a 3.9-liter V8 gasoline engine, producing around 95 horsepower, and had a simple, rugged design suited to the rough conditions on the Eastern Front and North Africa. Early models had a conventional rounded civilian-style cab (similar to pre-war Ford trucks), but from around 1942 onward, the design was simplified into an angular “Einheitsfahrerhaus” (standardized cab) to speed up production and reduce costs, much like other German military vehicles at that time.

The Ford V3000 served in multiple roles: as a cargo transporter, ambulance, workshop vehicle, and even as a base for mobile flak guns. Its 3-ton payload made it extremely valuable for maintaining the Wehrmacht’s supply lines across varied and difficult terrain.
