M113 A1 ACAV

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. M113 armored personnel carrier in its A1 variant, a designation which was used for all the diesel engine variant, so M113A1 refers to the standard personnel carrier, diesel engine.

ACAV version was a field modification introduced during Vietnam War, which later was adopted and mass produced from 1965 onwards, the kit included shields and circular turret armor for the commander’s M2 12.7mm machine gun, and two additional 7.62mm M60 machine guns, again with shields, fitted on either side of the top cargo hatch. Kit includes decal sheet with two markings. An ex-ESCI kit. Note that this kit includes the small sprue with the two rear machine guns and shield and armour for commander’s cupola, not present in ESCI – 8305 – M113 A1 APC but introduced by ESCI/Ertl in ESCI – 8601 – M113 ACAV with U.S Special Forces.
