The KV-2 was a Soviet heavy assault tank developed in 1940 as a modified KV-1, featuring an oversized turret with a 152mm howitzer for destroying fortifications. While its thick armor made it nearly impervious to early German weapons, its excessive weight led to poor mobility, slow turret rotation, and frequent mechanical failures. It saw action during Operation Barbarossa (1941) but was often abandoned due to breakdowns rather than combat losses. With only 200–300 units produced, the KV-2 was quickly rendered obsolete, though it remains an iconic WWII tank known for its unique and imposing design.

This a 2025 new tooled kit by Zvezda. Kit consists of around 150 parts including link and length tracks, which is a quite higher number of parts for such a tank and this kind of tracks. Cast looks clean and well engineered as per instructions sheet steps. Decal sheet include numerals for two markings.
