Blackburn B.46 Firebrand Mk.5 (FAA, 827 Sqn)
Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British Blackburn Firebrand strike fighter, developed during WW2 but did not enter service till September 1945, meaning it didn’t saw action during WW2. Despite of initially be designed as a fighter, their worse performance compared to other fighters in service on the time, make them to be re-designed as strike-attack fighters. They were retired from service in the early 50s.
Mk.5, or T.F. 5, feature some minor aerodynamics updates to the main production version, MK. IV. Was not a production version but an upgrade of existing Mk.IV, with around 124 planes upgraded.
Kit includes PE (photo-etched) detail parts and vacuform canopy. It also contains resin parts. Decal shown below belongs to Valom – 72140 – Blackburn B.46 Firebrand Mk.IV kit.
