617 Sqn. Dambusters 80th Anniversary
(Gift Set)

This is a combination box of Airfix – A09007A – Avro Lancaster B.III (SPECIAL) “THE DAMBUSTERS”, a kit originally tooled in 2012, replacing the older Avro Lancaster Airfix kit from the 80s and the newly tooled in 2023 Airfix – A55010 – Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II (Starter Set), a sort of easy kit.

The box commemorates the 80 years of the 617 RAF Squadron, nicknamed Dambusters after the Dams Raid in 1943 (operation Chastise). The squadron has flown the Avro Lancaster, Lincoln and Vulcan; English Electric Canberra, Panavia Tornado and nowadays (2023) the F-35B.

Lancaster kit consists of 267 parts and the F-35B just 42. One marking is included for each plane. Box also includes 12 paints, 2 brushes and 2 glues. Stands are also provided for both planes.
