Leopard 1A3 A4

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a (West) Germany main battle tank Leopard 1, entered service in 1965.

This kit is a variation of kit ESCI – 8301 – 8069 – Leopard 1A2, but it introduced a new sprue with a totally new turret as belongs to an A3-A4, in fact, several details make this kit more accurate as an A4, maybe because this, when Italeri reissued the kit, omitted the A3 version. Italeri issued this kit with two different code numbers and different decal sheet, the last issue is Italeri – 7070 – Leopard 1A4. The kit features the commander’s gunsight molded into the cupola roof, which is a feature of the A4 variant only.
