U.S. Light Truck WC 51 (U.S. 3/4-Ton 4×4 Carrier Truck)

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Dodge WC (Weapons Carrier) series 3/4 Ton light truck, a 4×4 truck produced in over 250.000 units from 1942 to 1945.

Despite being a so important truck in the U.S. WWII army, only ESCI (and Academy as ambulance variant) paid attention to this model kit in 1/72 scale.

The kit was later released by Italeri as Italeri – 7010 – Dodge WC-51.

This model can turn in a nice Dodge WC 51 model, you need to address some ejector pin marks visibles and pay attention to suspension assembly, the steps as appear in the instructions sheets will end with a too high vehicle with too much distance between chassis and body. Work the kit as the review at On They Way by Al Magnus and use some image of the real vehicle as reference for it.

This kit was the base also for ESCI – 8358 – 8040 – U.S. M6 with 37mm gun (U.S. 37mm. Gun Motor Carriage MG).
