Imai produced model kits for as many subjects as they could during their peak years in the 80s, which included lot of Anime TV series and happily many times using the 1/72 scale. Genesis Climber MOSPEADA was a TV series aired in 1983-1984 which featured transformable “mechas” pretty much as we are used to see on the more widespread Macross franchise. In the U.S. MOSPEADA was also adapted into (third generation) Robotech series.

One of the main transformable mecha of the series, was the Legioss, AFC-01H S or I, which used exactly same concept that Macross valkyries, transforming between Fighter, Intermediate and Humanoid Mecha, which in Mospeada universe took the names of Fighter, Diver and Soldier.

After IMAI bankruptcy their molds were acquired by all the other Japanese brands around, and if we speak about the MOSPEADA molds, Aoshima took over them and eventually released two times, 2007 and 2017, the IMAI models for the topic.

The AFC-01I kit comes cast in white and green parts, the model is NON transformable between the three positions once built, but include parts to build in the three modes. Another excellent example of IMAI creativity and engineering capabilities in the 80s, bring back for a time by Aoshima.
