This is a classic sci-fi model kit tooled in the first golden age of the genre in the 80s. Aoshima released a full line of model kits devoted to Acrobunch, a 24 episodes Mecha Anime TV series aired in 1982.

The main character is a giant mecha, Acrobunch, made of five separate vehicles that combine to form the super robot. The parts contain 2 motorcycles which form the arms, 2 race cars for the legs and 1 plane to form the body. This kit, the Bancher Hornet C-Mech is one of the cars that can combine to create the legs.

The kit itself is not transformable, but can be built as car or as one leg. Kit is designed as snap-fit no glue required, and included a top class color print instructions sheet. Was tooled in a vivid blue color plastic, consist of few parts and far from today standards but it’s a nice collector piece and a nice small kit for those who like vintage pieces.

The series is often also referred as “Demon Region Legendary Acrobunch”, “Demon Regions Legend Acrobunch”, “Ruins Legend Acrobunch” or “Acrobanch”, and in France, where the series also achieved some popularity (aired in 1985), it was renamed to L’Empire des Cinq and Askadis – La Légende de l’empire perdu, and Acrobunch was renamed as “Thorn-Rock”.
