Hasegawa – 65889 – VF-0S Gerwalk w/Ghost Macross Zero

Description:

Sci-FI/Anime plastic model kit in 1/72 scale part of the Macross universe, Macross Zero, a prequel of the original  The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, released in 2002 to commemorate the 20th anniversary. Macross Zero aired 5 episodes between late 2002 and 2004 and introduced the VF-0 Phoenix variable fighter, as previous model prior creation of the VF-1. Though both models resemble between them, and resemble to a F-14, the refined animation and design of the 2000s compared to the original VF-1s from the 80s, cause the VF-0s to certainly looks like more modern/advanced than the “later” VF-1.

This kit is an update of the VF-0S line, reengineering parts from Hasegawa – 20 – VF-0A/S Battroid Macross Zero, Hasegawa – 65777 – VF-0A/S w/Ghost and Hasegawa – VF-0S – VF-0S Macross Zero together with new parts to create this stunning VF-0S Gerwalk mode and including Ghost Booster.

The kit include decal sheet with one marking for Roy Focker’s Skull Platoon “301” as seen on Macross Zero.

The new parts are Intake and knee joint parts, underside of fuselage, shoulders, nose landing gear cover, vector nozzle and attachment for stand (which is requited for display and included in the kit). The kit is tooled in ivory white and gray, with clear parts and a blue-gray stand. Hasegawa aware that the new parts are engineered to work only with the Ghost Booster unit and is not possible build the model as Gerwalk without the Ghost unit.

The original VF-0S kits were tooled between 2004 and 2006. This 2024 update is the first in the series in all these years.
