One of the long time waited releases depicting those brave men who fought far away from home during several years.

The box contains 48 figures in 11 poses, that mean that all the poses are x4 but one is x8. These box come together with the command box, also released in this batch.

Figures come in a single sprue type, included four times. The sprue contains a mix of poses, marching, firing, reloading, charging or standing for a charge. This mix together with the 4x format causes a bit of repetition on the poses if you pretend to create a marching unit, just two poses, or a charge. The most feasible is a firing/holding line, for what you get most of the figures, which is what you can expect for a Zulu Wars scenario.

The kit includes also one single figure/pose of a natal/civilian irregular fighter, which is a good addition, but in a single pose x4, makes little and detracts one more pose of regular soldiers.

Sculpture is good, detail is soft in some areas as usually happens on HäT sets, but proportions, poses (not flat at all) are good and stands in the best example of what HäT was able to do.

In our opinion, it would have been better to release a single set including one sprue of the Command Set, and 3 sprues as the one included in this set, because if this set causes repetition, the Command set, with the same configuration of a single sprue x4, gives you too much officers (4 mounted officers single pose). HäT produced a lot, produced a lot of good things and also quite a lot not so good thing, but they configuration of the sets was always a bit weird to our eyes.
