Description:

Unpainted plastic soldiers in 1/72 scale depicting Ukrainian Registered Cossacks during XVII century.

Registered Cossacks formed an elite unit/s of the  Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth army during XVI and XVII centuries. Despite the difference between “Registered” or not, the term only refers to a pollitical/administrative consideration, and those Registered Cossacks had same clothes or weapons that the common Zaporozhian Cossack from where they came from.

Box contains 52 figures in 16 different poses, organized in 5 sprues. 4 sprues, containing 12 figures each in 12 different poses, are the main part of the kit, while the 5th sprue contains only 4 unique figures, adding a command to the group, with an Officer, Standard bearer, drummer and another musician with a sort of trumpet or maybe a cossack Zhaleika.

Figures are well sculpted and some examples shows a good casting too. The troops are a mix of weapons but fire arms are the predominant ones, which sounds good for a XVII century Registered Cossack unit.

This set has been released with another two sets for the Cossack/Ukrainian army during XVII century, Red Box – 72144 – Ukrainian Peasant infantry 17th century and Red Box – 72143 – Ukrainian Zaporozhian Cossacks infantry 17th century, and complements the previously released sets for XVI century, allowing to create and excellent Cossack army for the whole period.
