Description:

Keldysh Sub-orbital bomber

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet Keldysh bomber, a develop continuation of the German WWII Silbervogel project. At the end of the WWII, information about the German project was found by Soviets in the Peenemünde base and a research was started which concluded that the rocket-based design of the German Silbervogel was impossible due the amount of fuel it required so the Soviets redesigned the concept adding two more standard Ramjet in the wing tips to assist the propulsion in the orbital phase, drastically reducing the amount of fuel required for the rocket propeller.

The project was never materialised but investigations were applied later to several intercontinental cruise missiles developed during 50s and early 60s.

AMP kit is based in their previous release AMP – 72014 – Silbervogel Antipodal-Bomber adding new parts, including two resin parts, a new decal sheet and paint mask. Kit is pretty straight with few parts.
