Azur FRROM – FR0047 – Fairey Battle Mk.I “Poles in UK”

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a British WWII Fairey Battle light bomber. Bit over 2200 units were produced of the type, between 1937 and 1940, at that time the aircraft was obsolete for the front line and converted to trainers or target tug aircrafts.

Newly tooled kit in 2024, the brand has been working on the tool for this model since 2021, when it was advanced. Produced by Special Hobby ensures a neat and clean cast for the parts.

The kit is provided with any after-market detail parts, just plastic parts, which is fine for us, because usually complex after-market parts are beyond our skills, but kit doesn’t provide either a paint-mask, and Fairey Battle is a complex one to paint, due its high number of frames. At the moment of write this the brand either Special Hobby provide a paint mask in their after-market catalogue though probably this will change in the future.

Despite what the tittle suggests, only one Polish Squadron in RAF service marking is included, in a total of 3 markings, the other two markings belongs to an early 1937 RAF marking and to a RCAF (Royal Canadian Marking) as target tug.
