Clear Prop – CP72048 – I-16 type 5 In Finnish Service (Starter Kit)

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet Polikarpov I-16, a fighter aircraft introduced in the early 30s and retired in 1945 and later in Spanish service (captured from Republican Spain during Spanish Civil War). Type 5 was one of the mass produced versions, with a streamlined and tapered engine cowling, powered by Shvetsov M-25 engine.

Finland was not one of the operators of the type, but they captured some Polikarpov I-16 during the “Winter War” with Soviet Union.

Kit consists of 102 plastic parts, include decal sheet with two Finnish markings dated 1942 and 1943, one on skis and one on wheels. “Starter” line doesn’t contains PE parts and is more oriented for non-expert modelers.
