The Caproni Ca.100, also known as Caproncino, was an Italian biplane trainer developed in the late 1920s. It was inspired by the de Havilland DH.60 Moth and served as a reliable and widely used training aircraft for the Regia Aeronautica (Italian Royal Air Force) and civil aviation schools.

Designed as a simple and cost-effective training platform, the Caproni Ca.100 featured a wood and fabric construction, with a classic open cockpit configuration that accommodated a pilot and an instructor in a tandem arrangement. Its structure was light but robust, making it ideal for student pilots learning basic flight maneuvers.

The aircraft was powered by various engines throughout its production, including radial and inline piston engines, with horsepower ranging from 85 to 130 HP, depending on the version. This flexibility allowed the Ca.100 to be adapted to different training requirements. A notable variant was the Ca.100 Idro, a seaplane version equipped with floats instead of wheels, designed for naval aviation training.

The Caproncino became the most-produced trainer aircraft in Italy during its time, with hundreds built and used well into the 1940s. Some were even exported to other countries, including Peru, Hungary, and Spain. Today, a few restored examples of the Caproni Ca.100 are still preserved in museums and private collections, celebrated as an important piece of early aviation history.
