Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet MiG-29 multi-role fighter aircraft.

The MiG-29SMT represents an upgrade from the first-generation MiG-29s (9.12 to 9.13) by incorporating advancements from the MiG-29M. Notable improvements include additional fuel tanks within an enlarged spine, extending the maximum internal flight range , the cockpit features an enhanced Hands On Throttle and Stick (HOTAS) design.

Addressing the MiG-29A’s limited air-to-ground capability, the SMT upgrade introduces the enhanced Zhuk-ME radar with air-to-ground radar detection, incorporating integration for air-to-ground guided weapons, with increased weapons load capacity of 4,500 kg (9,900 lb) on six underwing and one ventral hardpoints. Engines are also upgraded.
