Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet MiG-29 fourth generation multi-role fighter aircraft introduced in the early 80s and still in service. 9-12 type, the initial production version delivered in 1983. 9.12A was the variant issued for export to Warsaw Pact members, with downgraded radar and avionics, as well as not nuclear capable. Kit also offers markings for 9.12B, the export variant for non-Warsaw Pact countries, such Iran or Syria. This variant had even further downgraded radar and avionics.

Great Wall Hobby (GWH) has issued great models in the past, and this new MiG-29A will not disappoint to anyone, the kit includes all kind of refinements of an excellent molding technology, with a beautiful cockpit and seat (aftermarket products can improve this a bit but they are the best you will see in injected plastic 1/72 scale), canopy in two parts allowing to build open, intakes and exhausts can be build as a stopped aircraft, flying aircraft or running land aircraft and all the parts are carefully molded with nice detail and accuracy.

Kit contains also an interesting payload option, including S-24 rockets, B-8M1 Rocket launcher, B-13L Rocket launcher, R-60 and R-73 air-to-air missiles, and R-27T or R-27R amongst others.

Decal sheet includes six different markings, covering a well bunch of the operators of the type, such Syria, Iran, Yugoslavia, Russia, Czechoslovakia and East Germany. Also included a big sheet of stencils to cover all the variants and payload options.

The expensive price of the kit is well deserved by the amount of detail and accuracy offered, as well as well engineered parts simplifying build process and a nice selection of markings.
