F-5A Freedom Fighter

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Northrop F-5 light fighter aircraft, a Northrop private venture developed in the late 50s that saw an important success in export sales as a cheap but reliable fighter aircraft. Over 30 different countries operate or operated some of the F-5 variants.

Two initial variants were developed, A, single seat fighter and B, two seat trainer. F-5 family develop later lead to the F/A-18 develop.

Kit includes a “super” decal sheet with six markings for six different nationalities, including Aviación Militar Bolivariana (2009, Venezola), Canadian Armed Forces (1990), Republic of Vietnam Air Force (1970), Ejército del Aire (Spanish Air Force, 1976), Norwegian Air Force (1994) and Netherland Air Force (1978).

This kit was originally tooled by ESCI in 1983, has been released also under Revell, AMT-Ertl, ESCI-Ertl, Wolfpack Design or Italeri in the past.
