Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) – CLK0008 – Bf 109F-3 “Egon Mayer”

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII Messerschmitt Bf-109F-3 fighter aircraft, armed with a 20 mm MG-FF/M Motorkanone and two 7.92 mm MG 17s as the F-1 series. Just a few number of F-3 were built, a new 20mm Mauser MG 151/20 Motorkanone was introduced and series production switched to F-4 armed with this new gun, externally there might be little differences between an F-3 and F-4 variant.

This kit is an update of AZ Model Bf 109F-4 kit with a new decal sheet with a marking for the German pilot ACE Egon Mayer dated 1941. Mayer was credited with 102 shot downs before he himself was shot down and killed in action in 1944 by a P-47 Thunderbolt near Montmédy (France). Mayer was also the first German fighter pilot to score 100 shot downs in the Western Front.
