Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) – KPM0445 – Ansaldo S.V.A.9 “Italian Eagles”

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of an Italian WWI Ansaldo SVA biplane reconnaissance aircraft, introduced in 1917 and produced even after war in over to 1200 units. Originally developed as a fighter aircraft the type was considered not suitable for the role, but its impressive speed, range and operational ceiling converted it in an excellent reconnaissance or light bomber aircraft.

Over 14 countries operated some version of the Ansaldo SVA, produced in around 10 different variants and in service for over a decade after WWI.

S.V.A. 9 was a two seat reconnaissance variant with enlarged wings. Took part in the 1920 Rome-Tokyo Race.

The kit originally was developed by Admiral (AZ Model) in 2013. Include a decal sheet with 3 Italian markings, dated 1918-1919.
