Ju 87 Stuka
Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 of a German WWII dive-bomber and ground attack aircraft Junkers Ju 87, introduced in 1936 with service also in the Spanish Civil War and a successful career in the early WWII. Around 6000 units were produced till the end of the war (production was halted in 1944).
D series was developed as results of the findings during the Battle of Britain, increased the armour, defensive armament and bomb payload.
G series was the last develop of the Stukas, focused on an anti-tank role, fitted with two 37mm Bordkanone BK 3,7 guns under wings mounted in a gondola. The guns were feed with armour-piercing tungsten ammunition. G-1 was mainly converted from D series airframes.
Original Matchbox kit tooled in 1974, re-released in 1979, 1983 and 1991, just introducing a new box art inn the 1983 release but keeping always same content a decal sheet with two German markings, both dated 1943 Eastern Front.
This kit never has been re-released under any other brand.
Kit included some different parts depending on the version choice, Ju 87 D-3 or Ju 87 G-1, the most visually of them, the under wing gondola style guns in the G-1 version or the coolant radiators underneath the wings of the D series.
