Messerschmitt Me 262

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII jet fighter aircraft Messerschmitt Me 262, the world first operational jet aircraft, also used as fighter-bomber during the war.

Original Matchbox kit tooled in 1993 which only suffered the common transformations in the Matchbox line, rework the box art removing swastikas and minor changes, and later a new box art introduced in 1983. In 1992 updated the code number to the 400XX format (40021).

The kit always contained a decal sheet with 2 markings, dated 1944.

Matchbox released a last Me 262 in 1996, but instead of use this kit as base the FROG kit tooled in 1972 was used for Matchbox – 40100 – Messerschmitt Me-262 “Blitzbomber”.

1973 box layout.
