Smer – 941 – Avia S-199

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Czechoslovak Avia S-199 fighter aircraft, build after WWII using German Messerschmitt Bf 109G airframes and Junkers Jumo 211F engines left in Czechoslovakia after the war. Around 600 units were build in different versions.

Israel was the only operator of the type together with Czechoslovakia. Israel acquired 25 units in 1948 and due its poor performance and maintenance problems they were retired from service by the end of the same year.

Decal sheet include 3 Czechoslovak markings plus an Israeli marking. Kit is based in old KP (Kopro) molds, dated in the late 70s, 1977 or 1978. Kit is bit rough and not easy to manage. Not recommended for beginners.
