Special Hobby – 72467 – DB-7 / Havoc Mk.I “Intruders”

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Douglas A-20 Havoc, a multi-role aircraft developed during WWII that served in different roles such light bomber, attack aircraft, night fighter or gunship across its life. Over 7000 units were produced between 1939 and 1944.

The DB-7 / Havoc Mk.I designation of the kit could be confusing but a look at markings and exact version of the kit their are the early DB-7 with Pratt & Whitney R-1830 engine, as those delivered to France before the armistice. The RAF pressed this machines as night bomber (intruders) contributing to develop the night bombing strategy later in the war.

Kit is based on the AZUR-FRROM release, Azur FRROM – FR0052 – DB-7 In French Service, with new 3D printed parts as can see below. Special Hobby already had some Douglas A-20 Havoc in their catalogue, coming from the old MPM kit, but none of an early version as the Azur-FFROM kit offers as base.

Kit include 4 RAF markings.
