Airacobra P-39N

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. WWII fighter aircraft Bell P-39 Airacobra, a very successful design available since 1941 and produced in almost 10.000 units tll 1944. The type was of special success in the Eastern skies, where Soviet pilots achieved the individual highest rates of kills attributed to any U.S. fighter in any conflict.

The type was discarded in the Western theater because its poor high altitude performance, but in the east most of the air fight happened at mid-low altitude. Soviet Air Force manly used it for Air-to-Air combat, and the type recorded the last kill of the war for the Soviets, shutting down a Fw-189 in May 9th, 1945. In total Soviet Union received over 4700 aircraft of this type through the lend lease program.
