Unassembled and unpainted 1/72 scale play set box, including figures, vehicles and buildings.

Italeri reissues some classic sets together in a box with a new MDF laser cut building depicting the Sainte-Mère-Eglise church. Sainte-Mère-Eglise is located in Normandy (France) and during the D-Day operations in June 1994 had an important role, as was in the middle of the route Germans could have used to counter-attack over Utah and Omaha Beaches. The city was taken on the night of day June 6th by airborne troops of both the U.S. 82nd Airborne and U.S. 101st Airborne divisions.

After heavy casualties during the early airborne landings the city was taken and later had to resist heavy German counter attacks till reinforced with tanks from the beach landings in the afternoon on June 7th.

The only new item included in the box is the MDF building portraying the church. Together with the building, Italeri reuses here two classic old ESCI sets, Italeri – 6063 – World War II US Paratroopers and Italeri – 6033 – World War II German Infantry. To complete the scene, one sprue with one single Sd.Kfz.251 Ausf.C from box Italeri – 7516 – Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf. C (quick build type scale model) and one sprue from Italeri – 6146 – Urban Accessories (largely out of production and unavailable as stand alone product) are included.

All together, in our opinion, the release of this model adds little value for the old hobbyists, but this kind of packages are usually eye candy for younger hobbyists and new comers, as well as average price for the content you get is good.
