German Submarine TYPE IX C (U505 late)

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII Submarine Type IX, variant C. One of the most produced in the IX family together with the C/40. Class IX was designed during 1935-1936 and produced during all the war, 95 units were completed. Type IX C had mine layer capabilities, as well as six torpedoes tubes, four at the bow and two at the stern.

Released in 2013 this kit was the initial release of the Revell Submarine class TYPE IX in 1/72 scale. Kit features over 160 parts and measures over a meter once build. Kit is correct in shape and proportions and well detailed though a plethora of after-market detail sets are available to improve the model.

This class has been re-released and upgraded with new parts two times by Revell since this initial release, both Revell – 05133 – German Submarine Type IX C/40 and Revell – 05166 – German Submarine Type IXC U67/U154 are newer releases.
