A-19 122mm Soviet Heavy Gun m.1931/37

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet WWII heavy gun A-19, 122mm, a soviet design of the 30s produced from 1939 to 1946 in over 2500 units, largely deployed during WWII but retained in service long after the war ended. Variants of the A-19 gun was also mounted in IS-2 and IS-3 tanks as well as the ISU-122 self propelled gun. The gun used the same carriage than the heavier 152 mm howitzer-gun M1937 (ML-20) gun.

Captured A-19 m.1931/37 were used by Finish, Romanian and sold to Spain by Germany in 1943, where remained operative and modernized till 80s. The Syrian army, Egyptian, Chinese also received/purchased some gun, as well the People’s Army of Vietnam who used them during Vietnam War.

Kit consists only of plastic parts, no PE detail parts, includes around 96 plastic parts, a quite high number for a gun model in 1/72 scale, an indicator of the good detail level provided. Instruction sheet suggests four paint schemes though no decal sheet is included.

As the real gun, the kit reuses parts of two previously released kits, ACE – 72227 – ML-20 152mm Soviet gun-howitzer and ACE – 72228 – A-19 Soviet WW2 122mm howitzer.
