Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German armoured ambulance Sd.Kfz.251/8 Ausf. C.

This kit is a variant of kit ESCI – 8359 – 8002 – Hanomag Sd. Kfz. 251/1 with new parts for the ambulance version. The interior detail is very basic, both the existing one and the newly added like stretchers or folding seat which by the way is not mentioned in the sprue.

As no other brand has tooled and armoured ambulance in an Sd.Kfz.251, this is the best and only option for it, unless you want to scratch build all the interior detail in a standard 251/1 half track. The external water tank that box arts shows and is included in the new parts, seems to not be a common feature but used at least in the North African campaign.

Of course you still may want to replace wheels and tracks if looking for a more accurate depiction of the 251 ausf. C, especially if you have one of the earlier releases with vinyl tracks. The kit was reissued by Italeri as Italeri – 7077 – Sd.Kfz. 251/8 AMBULANCE.
