Description:

Panzer Jaeger I (Pz. Jg. I b Pak L/43)

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WWII Panzerjäger I, the first German WWII self propelled anti-tank gun, mounting a Czech Škoda-built 4,7cm KPÚV vz. 38 gun over a Panzer IB chassis in an open upper structure covered by a fixed shield that was five sided in the early series (as the kit depicts) and seven sided in the later. Around 202 Panzer IB were converted to Panzerjäger Is.

Sharing the main sprue of the ESCI – 8368 – 8024 – German Tank IB (Pz. Kpfw. I Ausf. B) kit, this kit changed one sprue with the specific parts for the Czech Škoda-built 4,7cm KPÚV vz. 38 gun, shield and some different parts. The problem of the engine deck and wrongly shaped upper hull part got wrong here as brand decided to seal all the upper hull. Gun itself is well moulded but the superstructure/shield is bit too thick.

Same history than parent kit, Revell-ESCI, Hasegawa, Aurora or Polistil released the same kit in the 70s. Italeri re-issued the same kit as Italeri – 7058 – Panzerjäger I 4.7cm PAK.

Kit includes decal with four markings to choose from.

Sadly no other brand attempted to reproduce the Panzerjäger I in injected plastic 1/72 scale (A conversion set by Moxing Studio was created for S-Model Panzer IB but it’s pretty hard to find).
