Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of an Italian WWII anti-tank gun M41M Semovente da 90/53. Developed in 1942 and in very limited numbers (around 30 units) it mounted the 90mm Cannone da 90/53 anti-aircraft gun (same gun as IBG – 72096 – Italian Autocannone 3Ro with 90/53 90mm Anti Air Gun) in an enlarged M14/41 chassis.

Despite it was probably the most capable gun of the Italian army during the WWII, open structure and low ammunition capacity together with the very low number built made it a not significant weapon during the war. It performed well during the African and Sicily campaigns, but not in the north of Italy, where in German hands after the 1943 armistice end up as an artillery piece.

This is a newly tooled kit in 2024, derived from the M13/40 series (IBG – 72125 – M13/40 Italian Tank Late Production) and the previous IBG – 72096 – Italian Autocannone 3Ro with 90/53 90mm Anti Air Gun. This is a per 2024 the only inject plastic 1/72 scale model of the Semovente da 90/53.
