Kit consists of over 90 parts including rubber tires and it’s a small modification of kit Trumpeter – 07442 – LAV-150 APC 90mm Mecar Gun, with a different gun.

The Mecar 90mm gun and the Cockerill 90mm gun are both Belgian-designed weapons, but they differ significantly in purpose, design philosophy, and performance. The Mecar 90mm is a low- to medium-pressure gun developed for lightweight armored vehicles such as reconnaissance cars and mobile fire support platforms. Its design emphasizes low recoil and reduced weight, making it ideal for vehicles with limited load-bearing capacity. It typically fires specialized low-pressure ammunition like HEAT-FS and HESH, providing reasonable firepower against lightly armored targets but with limited anti-tank capability.

In contrast, the Cockerill 90mm gun is a high-pressure system developed for more robust platforms like light tanks and advanced fire support vehicles. It delivers significantly greater firepower, capable of firing high-velocity ammunition including modern APFSDS rounds, and is often integrated into sophisticated turret systems with advanced fire control. This makes it more suitable for engaging armored threats and operating in direct combat roles. While both guns serve within similar calibers and have been widely exported, the Cockerill gun is the more powerful and versatile of the two, intended for more demanding combat scenarios.
