Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Soviet 30s self propelled gun built over a BT-7 tank.

During 30s and up to 1941 the Soviet BT tanks, based in the 1931 U.S. Christie’s M1931 tanks, were the main bulk of the Soviet fast tanks, reasonably well armed for the time and the fastest tanks of the time. BT-2, BT-5 and BT-7 were the main production variants, but the vehicles served also as test bed for lot of experiments, different turrets and self propelled guns, artillery or anti-air vehicles.

The kits depict a variant of the BT-7A (close support artillery variant) used for testing of the 76.2 mm L-11 gun, similar to UMMT – 676 – BT-7A Soviet tank with L-11 gun but with a fixed closed turret with increased space for both crew and ammunition.

Kit reuses chassis, tracks, hull and wheels from previous BT-7 releases adding new parts for turret and new PE (photo-etched) detail parts, which as usual in the brand, are in quite high number and are required to finished the build model, not only as optional extra detail parts. Decal sheet include one single marking detailed in the back box.

Back box with marking detail.
