Description:
Fiat G.50 Freccia
Finnish Ski Service
Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of an Italian WWII fighter Fiat G.50 Freccia, the first Italian single seat all-metal monoplane.
Finland acquired 35 aircraft of the type but only 33 were delivered and two lost in transit due damage. The Finnish G.50 were at the end the longest and most successful aircraft in service during both wars against the Soviet Union, with victory ratios up to 33/1 despite they had to face more modern designs during the Continuation War (1941-1944) and the lack of spare parts limited their service in the last years.
One of the G.50 was tested with a ski undercarriage taken from a Fokker D.XXI, but the modification did not enter production and no more aircrafts were modified.
Kit includes decal sheet with two markings for the Finnish Air Force. The kit is based on the FLY kit for the same topic updated with resin parts and new decal.
