Bf 109F-4 “In Spain Services”
Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WW2 Messerschmitt Bf109 fighter aircraft.
This kit contains decal sheet for three Spanish markings, two of them are for post Spanish Civil War times but in Spain mainland service, but the third one, is a marking for a Spanish Volunteer pilot in service in the Jagdgeschwader 51, the most awarded fighter wing of the Luftwaffe during WW2.
During 1942 a Spanish volunteer staffel was attached to the group, remaining in service till January 1944, claiming 149 air kills with 17 own pilots killed in action. Capt. Gonzalo Hevia Álvarez-Quiñones was top scorer with 11 kills, being awarded with the Iron Cross of 1st and 2nd class.
The marking included in the kit is not credited to any specific pilot.
