Bf 109F-4/R1 “Cannon Pod”

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WW2 Messerschmitt Bf109 fighter aircraft.

All the F-4 variants mounted the 20mm MG 151/20 “Motorkanone” (firing through propeller blades) cannon replacing the 15 mm MG from previous versions. R1 variant was able to mount another two 20mm MG 151/20 cannons in underwing gondolas, giving this variant an special power to shoot down heavier targets such bombers. Around 240 units of this type were produced.

Kit includes decal sheet with three markings, all for the Jagdgeschwader 52 fighter wing of the Luftwaffe, for 1941-1942 period. The unit received G (Gustav) variants for around July, so the markings apply to the first part of the year before this upgrade to G variants.
