Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Czechoslovak Aero L-39 Albatros trainer aircraft.

The Aero L-39 Albatros is a widely known jet trainer aircraft that was manufactured by Aero Vodochody in Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). It was designed during the 1960s as a successor to the Aero L-29 Delfín and was primarily used to train pilots in basic and advanced jet training, it also served as a light attack aircraft.

The Aero L-39 Albatros include a single turbofan engine, a tandem cockpit for the instructor and the student pilot and a low-mounted wing. The aircraft’s design was intended to be simple, robust, and capable of operating in rough field conditions.

The L-39 Albatros has been widely exported and has been used by various air forces around the world. Its reliability, ease of operation, and relatively low maintenance costs made it popular in many countries for pilot training purposes or light attack and reconnaissance missions. Almost 3000 units were produced in all the variants with over 40 different operators.

Eduard released an L-39C Albatros for first time in 2002. In 2023 reissues and updates the kit in a deluxe DUAL COMBO edition which includes enough parts to build two aircrafts in variants L-39C (Standard basic trainer for Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia and export), L-39CM (Slovak upgraded C version), L-39ZA (Significantly upgraded L-39ZO for armed training and light attack) or L-39ZO (Interim weapon trainer variant for export) and a variety of ten different markings to choose from.

This box includes also pre-colored PE parts and paint mask.
