Fine Molds – FX01 – Israeli Air Force F-15C “Baz”

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle fighter aircraft in an early C variant in Israeli service. F-15C is an air-superiority fighter version, with 483 units built between 1979–1985.

F-15Cs can carry out an interesting range of payload, to include:

Guns:

• 1× 20 mm (0.787 in) M61A1 Vulcan 6-barrel rotary cannon with 940 rounds

Hardpoints:

• Total of 9:
  • Two under-wing (each with two additional missile launch rails)
  • Four under-fuselage for semi-recessed carriage of AIM-7 Sparrows
  • A single centerline pylon station
  • Optional fuselage pylons (including options for conformal fuel tanks) with a capacity of 16,000 lb (7,300 kg)

Missile loadout options (NOT INCLUDED IN THE SET):

• 4× AIM-7 Sparrow
• 4× AIM-9 Sidewinder
• 8× AIM-120 AMRAAM

Other loadout options (ONLY THE EXTERNAL FUEL TANKS ARE INCLUDED IN THE KIT):

• Up to 3 × 600 US gallons (2,300 L) external drop tanks for ferry flight or extended range/loitering time
• MXU-648 Cargo/Travel Pod for carrying personal belongings and small pieces of maintenance equipment
• ADM-160 MALD, a family of decoy missiles that can be equipped with electronic countermeasures

Variant of Fine Molds F-15 kit, similar to Fine Molds – 72954 – U. S. Air Force F-15C (Limited Edition) with a different decal sheet including 3 Israeli markings, dated ranging from 1983 to 2017. Israel has operated F-15s since 1977, with around 16 F-15C in service as per 2022.

This set is compatible with Fine Molds – FP44 – U.S. Air-to-Air Missile Set #2 (’60s~’70s) to extend payload options of the kit or Fine Molds – FP31 – US Air-to-Air missile set. The kit doesn’t include weapons payload, it needs to be acquired separately.
