Together with Pinta (Heller – 80816 – Pinta) and Nina (Heller – 80815 – Nina (La Niña) 1/75 Scale) Santa Maria was the third ship in the Cristopher Columbus expedition which discovered America. There is discussion even today if Santa Maria was or not a caravel but for sure what the bigger of the three ships in the expedition, and was the ship captained by Columbus himself.

Santa Maria stranded in La Española (today Haiti and Dominican Republic) and the wood was used to construct a small fort which constituted the first Spanish settlement in the new world.

Kit consists of 141 parts with vacumform sails.

Same kit is also released as starter kit with glue, paint and brush with code number 56865.
