Description:

US 105mm Howitzer M2A1 w/M2A2 Gun Carriage

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. 105mm field howitzer M2A1, a variant of the M101 howitzer introduced in 1940, with a different breech ring. The M2A2 carriage introduced a new shield. After the war the combination M2A1 on M2A2 was re-designated M101A1, while M2A1 term was again to refer a later Serbian improved variant. The kit depicts the 1940 variant.

The gun was the standard U.S. field howitzer during the WWII in all the theaters, remained in production till 1953 and was widely exported, with a total production over 10.000 units.
