The Cannone da 105/28 Ruote Electron was an Italian field gun derived from the French Canon de 105 mle 1913 Schneider, a design that saw extensive service during World War I and continued to be used by various nations through World War II. Italy adopted and produced this artillery piece under license, designating it as the Cannone da 105/28. The “Ruote Electron” variant refers to a modernization effort in the 1930s, where the original wooden-spoked wheels were replaced with lightweight alloy wheels made from “electron” (a magnesium-aluminum alloy), fitted with semi-pneumatic rubber tires. This upgrade enhanced the gun’s mobility, allowing it to be towed by mechanized vehicles, which was crucial for adapting to the faster-paced warfare of the Second World War.

Variant of kit ACE – 72595 – Cannone da 105/28 with carrello elastico trailer with new parts for steel pressed wheels (intended for mechanical traction) or the “electron” magnesium-aluminum alloy and rubberized wheels. Kit include both hard plastic or 3D printed versions for the rubber bands and two types of wheels.
