Attack Kits –  FU72-003 – WILLYS MB Dukla 1944

Description:

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. Willys MB jeep (formally U.S. Army Truck ¹⁄₄‑ton 4×4) in Soviet and Czechoslovak service during the battle of Dukla in 1944.

Without seen decal sheet we can’t be sure, but seems the markings belong to the Czechoslovak 1st Army Corps fighting in the Soviet side during the WWII. The battle of Dukla, September–October 1944, is part of the Soviet East Carpathian strategic offensive and attempt to help Slovak insurrection (uprising) against Nazi German.

The Soviet failed to cross on time to help the uprising, entering into Slovakia from the old Polish border through Dukla Pass was intended to be a quick operation which ended in over 50 days of heavy fighting and heavy casualties for both sides, considered one of the bloodiest battles of the east front.

Kit uses S-Model plastic parts, complemented with new PE parts, resin cast crew figures and new decal sheets.
