M65 Atomic Annie Gun, Heavy Motorized 280mm
“Black Label”

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a U.S. M65 atomic cannon (Atomic Annie), an atomic capable 280mm gun developed in the early 50s. Around 20 units were produced, deployed till 1962 in West Germany, South Korea or Okinawa. The gun had a range of around 30Km and was designed to fire the W9 Nuclear Warhead shell with a explosive yield of 15 kilotons, similar to the atomic bomb launched at Hiroshima. The design used the German K5 railroad gun as start point and certainly resembles to it (See Hobby Boss – 82903 – German 280mm K5(E) Railway Gun Leopold and Hasegawa – MT58 – German Railway Gun K5(E) “Leopold” w/Figure).

To transport the gun two specific tractors were designed, transported in same manner as railroad Schnabel cars.

Kit includes parts for both tractors and model can be assembled in both transport or firing mode.
