Together with ESCI – 8373 – 8051 – Sd. Kfz. 250/10, in 1976, introduced another variant of the original ESCI – 8369 – 8027 – Sd. Kfz. 250/3, sharing the main sprue and the main odd as the tracks or wrong front wheels but introducing a new problem with the mesh cover of the roof, certainly a kind of part very difficult to tool in plastic, and usually only with better results as PE (photo-etched) part.

The history of the kit is similar to the other ESCI Sd.Kfz.250, Revell-ESCI, Hasegawa and Aurora released it in the 70s. In the late 80s Ertl took control and released under ESCI-Ertl the kit got a link-and-length tracks which are really hard to work and get a proper nice looking. Also as with the previous two ESCI Sd.Kfz.250 kits, ESCI-Ertl samples with the single piece tracks or the link-and-length type exists without external difference.

Kit included a decal sheet with four markings.

This kit was released by Italeri as Italeri – 7020 – SdKfz. 250/9, including the single piece tracks.
