German KARL-Geraet 040/041 on Railway Transport Carrier

Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a German WW2 Heavy self propelled mortar KARL-Gerät 040/041, as kit provides options for both calibers. 040 was the original design with a 600mm short barrel, while 041 was later model with a 540mm long barrel. Seven units were produced, not all of them were updated to 041 barrel, and last unit (Nº VII, no named) was the test/research unit with few information available.

Our information is not complete but seems that only numbers I, IV and V received and used the 041 54cm long barrel type.

The kit consists of over 430 parts  with  4 section roadbeds
– railway track in 500mm length

Decal sheet available provides markings for 4 different units, numbers III (Thor), IV (Odin), V (Loki) and VI (Ziu).
