Unassembled plastic model kit in 1/72 scale of a Cessna O-1 Bird Dog liaison and observation aircraft developed for the U.S. Army, introduced in 1950 which has seen a long a prolific life with several operators and which keep flying nowadays mostly by private owners. Over 3400 units has been produced in several variants and improvements during its long life.

There is a small problem with the nomenclature that AVI has used on this kit, since O-1A or TL-19A, which is fine, belong to the initial production version for the U.S. Army, for the liaison and observation duties, while the subtitle of the kit, Army Instrument Trainers, should match to a TL-19D (or TO-1D). It’s true that the instrument trainer version was based on the A version, but adding dual controls.

Kit includes decal sheet with 4 U.S. markings and a large PE detail sheet.
