This kit is a variant of kit ESCI – 9003 – A-4F “Aggressor” (See the parent kit for details about the kit and the ESCI A-4 series), adding a new sprue with the weapons and external tanks payload, which adds 6 x Mk 82 500lb “slicks”, 2 x drop tanks and 2 x rocket pods, plus a single MER (Multiple Ejector Rack) for under fuselage (usable for the six Mk 82 bombs). The box art depicts pretty well this payload configuration and that’s exactly what you get in the box.

Though the A-4 in its different variants was able to carry a much more extended payload ESCI provided with this extra sprue some nice option for usual configurations of the A-4E. This payload can be extended for example using some of the Hasegawa weapons packs or the more recent by Fine Molds.

This same variant was also issued under Ertl and AMT-Ertl brands, as well as Revell-ESCI in the early 80s.
